1) Rooms must be reserved by MARCH 21, not March 28.  On March 22 it will be too late to reserve, and the nearest available rooms to Foxwoods will be at least three miles away.

2) The 3-day option plays 10, 12:30, 3 and 6 on Saturday, not 10, 1, 4 and 7.

At Foxwoods Resort Casino & Hotel (World's largest casino), Rt 2, Mashantucket CT 06338 (I-95 to Exit 92 to Rt 2 West, or I-395 to Exit 85 to Rt 164 to Rt 2 East). Free parking. 45 miles from T.F. Green Airport (Providence, RI), 14 miles from Groton/New London Airport; for shuttle from New London Amtrak station call 1-800-USA-RAIL. Free shuttle to Mashantucket Pequot Museum, largest Native American museum in USA.

Prizes $100,000 based on 650 paid entries; else proportional, minimum $70,000 (70% of each prize) guaranteed. Seniors count as 3/4 entries; re-entries, GMs, WGMs & foreign IMs as half entries, Under 800/Unr Section not counted. Unrated must enter Under 800/Unr or Open section.  In 7 sections:

Open Section: $10000-5000-3000-1500-1000-700-600-500-400-400, 2300-2499 $3000-1500-700,  Under 2300/Unr $3000-1500-700.  If tie for first, top 2 on tiebreak play speed game (white 7 minutes, black 5 minutes & gets draw odds) for title & free room at 2008 Foxwoods Open.

Under 2200, Under 2000, Under 1800, Under 1600 Sections: each $5000-3000-2000-1000-700-600-500-400-300-300.

Under 1300 Section: $4000-2000-1500-1000-700-600-500-400-300-300.

Under 800/Unrated Section: Trophies to top 10.

Prize limits: 1) Players with under 26 games played as of 4/07 list may not win over $1000 U1300, $2000 U1600 through U2200. Games rated too late for 4/07 list not counted. 2) If more than 20 pts over section maximum on any list 4/06 or after, prize limit $1000.  3) Balance of any limited prize goes to next player(s) in line.

Mailed entry fee: 5-day (Open only) $205, 4-day $204, 3-day $203 mailed by 1/10; 5-day $225, 4-day $224, 3-day $223 mailed by 3/27, all $250 at site. CSCA members may deduct $4 from mailed EF only. No checks at site, credit cards OK.

ONLINE entry fee at chesstour.com: $207 by 1/10, $227 by 4/2, $250 after 4/2 until 2 hours before rd 1.

Phoned entry fee at 406-896-2038 (entry only, no questions): $210 by 1/10, $230 by 4/2. No phone entry after 4/2.

GMs & foreign IMs free; $150 deducted from prize.  WGMs $100; another $100 deducted from prize.

Entry fee $70 less to seniors over 65 (except GMs, foreign IMs, WGMs, Under 800/Unr.)

Under 800/Unr Section entry fee: 4-day $24, 3-day $23 mailed by 3/27; all $27 online at chesstour.com by 4/2, $30 phoned to 406-896-2038 by 4/2 (entry only, no questions), $40 at site.

Advance entry fee $10 less if paid with $49 USCF dues.  Re-entry $100; not available in Open Section.

Advance entry fee minus $10 service charge refunded for withdrawals who give notice at least 1 hour before rd 1 (no service charge if fee applied to future CCA tournaments).

5-day Open Section schedule: Reg. ends Wed 6 pm, rds. Wed. 7 pm, Thu 12 noon & 7 pm, Fri 11 am & 6 pm, Sat 11 am & 6 pm, Sun 10 am & 4:30 pm. 

4-day Lower Sections schedule: Reg. ends Thu 6 pm, rds. Thu 7 pm, Fri 11 & 6, Sat 11 & 6, Sun 10 & 4:30.

3-day Lower Sections schedule: Reg. ends Fri 7 pm, rds Fri 8 pm, Sat 10,12:30, 3 & 6, Sun 10 & 4:30. 

4-day and 3-day merge after rd 4 & compete for same prizes. Byes: all; limit 4 (limit 2 in last 4 rds), Open must commit before rd 2, lower sections before rd 4.

Foreign player ratings: Usually 100 points added to FIDE, 100 to FQE, 200/more to most other foreign, no pts added to CFC. Most foreign ratings other than CFC, FQE or Jamaica not accepted for U2000 or below.  Highest of multiple ratings used.  Players who fail to disclose foreign or FIDE ratings may be expelled.

US player ratings:  April rating supplement used, FIDE ratings not used.  Advance entries may request "lowest possible section" if April rating is unknown.

SPECIAL RULES (revised):

1) Players with scores of 80% or more in round 3 or after may not use headphones, earphones, cellphones, or hearing aids, or go to a different floor of the building, without Director permission. They must also submit to a search for electronic devices if requested by Director; refusal to be searched is grounds for expulsion from the tournament, with no refund.

2) Players with scores of 66% to 79% in round 3 or after, all players in round 1 and players with a 1-0 score in round 2 may not use unauthorized cellphones, and may not use unauthorized headphones or earphones if their opponent objects.

3) If the players in a game have different scores, rules for the higher of the two scores apply to both players.

4)Writing move before playing it is allowed, unless you are using an electronic scoresheet.
