Dear New York State Scholastic Chess Championship Chess Enthusiast,

Please note that entries for the K-8 Sections at the Courtyard Marriott Hotel, have been paused due to space limitations. This first pause occurred on February 4^th, after the February 1^st early registration deadline.

The entries for the other sections, at the Hilton Hotel and the Saratoga Springs City Center, remained open until February 20th, but now they have also been paused due to space limitations.

Additional entries to all sections in Saratoga Springs for the weekend of March 8-9 are now subject to our Wait List.

If you wish to apply to be added to our wait list, if additional space should become available later, please note the following wait list applications procedure.

For those wishing to apply to be added to the wait list, please send an email to director@chess.us with the Subject:  "Request To Be Added To The 2025 NY State Scholastics Wait List."

PLEASE EMAIL CONTINENTAL CHESS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE WITH YOUR COMPLETED REQUEST (With The Information Below) TO BE ADDED TO THE WAITLIST!

   There are no phone entries.

The email request must include the following information.

1.  Player's Name and USCF ID Number (new or expired members will need to (re-)join USCF before we process their entry:  https://new.uschess.org/join-us-chess ).

2.  WHICH SECTION (as per below).

At the Hilton

      1.  K-1 Under 400

      2.  K-1 Championship

      3.  K-3 Under 800

At the City Center (or possibly at the Hilton), to be confirmed later per space availability

      4.  K-3 Championship

At the City Center

      5.  K-5 Under 600

      6.  K-5 Under 1000

      7.  K-5 Under 1400

      8.  K-5 Championship

At the Event Center (Excelsior Ballroom) of the Courtyard Marriott Hotel (2/5 mile north—about a 10-minute walk-- form the Hilton Hotel, at 47 Excelsior Avenue, next to the Courtyard Marriott Hotel)

      9.  K-8 Under 900 

10.  K-8 Championship

    11.  Under 1600

3.  The player's grade, birthdate and school.

4.  The player's March Official Rating:  http://www.uschess.org/msa/MbrLst.php

5.  The parent or coach's address, email and phone.

   We reserve the right to make corrections and possible section changes to player requests submitted with incorrect information (such as incorrect rating, grade, etc.).

We will contact you later by email if space becomes available in the section which you are requesting to enter.

Later, if space becomes available, we will give instructions on how to pay and a time frame to do so.  After we confirm payment, we will process the registration.

Wait list requests not following the above procedure are not processed.

NOTE: Entries into the K-5 sections who request to transfer to the K-8 sections at the Marriott will be treated instead as requests to be added to the Wait List.
