164 to Rt 2 East). Free parking.
45 miles from T.F. Green Airport (Providence, RI), shuttle about $15; 14
miles from Groton/New London Airport; shuttle from New London Amtrak
station about $3. Free shuttle to Mashantucket Pequot Museum, largest Native
American museum in USA.
$100,000 prize fund based on 650 entries; else proportional; 50% of each prize
guaranteed. Unrateds count as 1/3 entry, re-entries 1/2 entry toward prize
fund. Free analysis by GM Arthur Bisguier. Unr must enter Unr or Open section.

Mailed entry fee: 4-day $199, 3-day $198 mailed by 1/10, 4-day $229,
3-day $229 mailed 1/11-3/19. CSCA members may deduct $4 from mailed EF
only.

USCF membership required. Special USCF dues if mailed or paid online between
March 13 and April 15: adult $34, senior $25. These rates are not available at
tournaments or by phone.
QUALIFICATION FOR 2003 US CHAMPIONSHIP: USA players in the Open Section may
pay a $75 optional surcharge to be eligible to qualify for the US Championship,
January 2003 in Seattle. The six top scorers who have paid this fee before
beginning round 1 will qualify. Players who take one or more half point byes
or lose one or more games by forfeit cannot qualify.
4-day schedule: Reg. ends Thu 7 pm, rds. Thu 8, Fri 12-7, Sat 12-7, Sun 10-
4:30.
3-day schedule: Reg. ends Fri 8 pm, rds Fri 9 pm, Sat 10-1-4-7, Sun 10-4:30.
Half point byes OK all rounds (limit 2), rds 5-7 byes must commit before rd 4.
Hotel rates: Grand Pequot Tower(tournament site) $110-110, Great Cedar Hotel
(connected building; very close) $99-99, Two Trees Inn (15 minute walk; free
shuttle) $89-89. 1-800-FOXWOOD, you must reserve by 3/14 or you will have to
stay at least 3 miles away.
LATE BULLETIN: All Foxwoods Hotels are filled. The nearest hotel is Hilltop
Inn, 3 miles away (877-965-0500). Their rooms are going fast and they
declined to offer a special rate this year. They said their rate is $99
Thursday, $149 Friday, $229 Saturday, and $99 Sunday. About 10 miles away
is the Mystic Hilton (800-445-8667), which gave their rate as $109 single
($139 Saturday) and $139 twin ($159 Saturday).
