Chess Championships Awards!
The Awards Ceremony is scheduled to
begin at 5:30 pm Sunday, and should be finished by about
6:30 pm.
1.
High
School Championship. Plaques and medals will be awarded to the 10
top-scoring players and trophies to the 5 top-scoring school teams, and medals
to the 2 top-scoring rated players in each of the following rating classes: rated Under 1900
and rated Under 1700. Four individual medals to the First Place School.
2. K-12
Under 1800.
Plaques and medals will be awarded to the 10 top-scoring players and
trophies to the 5 top-scoring school teams, and medals to the 2 top-scoring
rated players in each of the following rating classes: rated Under 1600 and rated Under 1400.
Four individual medals to the First Place School.

Under 1200. Plaques and medals will be awarded to the 10
top-scoring players and trophies to the 5 top-scoring school teams, and medals
to the 2 top-scoring unrated players and the 2 top-scoring rated players in
each of the following rating classes: rated Under 1000, rated Under 800 and
rated Under 600. Four individual medals to the First Place School.
All players compete for all the individual
prizes for which they are eligible.
Players who qualify for a top place trophy as well as a rating class trophy will receive the place trophy (place
prizes, for which all players are eligible, take precedence over class prizes,
which are limited only to players in that rating class). If two or more players in a section attend
the same school, they also
compete for team prizes on behalf of their school. The four highest-scoring players from a
school produce the school’s team score for that section (teams of two or three
players are allowed, but are at a disadvantage).
$1,700 Individual Bonus Prizes for top-scoring players in
grades 9-12 residing in NY or attending NY schools (out-of-state
players attending NY schools must confirm eligibility with TD by Round 3).
High School Championship: $500-250-150;
High School Under 1800/Unr: $250-125-75, $100 limit to
Unr.;
High School Under 1200/Unr: $200-100-50, $50 limit to Unr.
$300 Mixed Doubles Team Bonus Prizes: $200-100, to best male+female 2-player team among all 3 sections combined,
team rating must average U2200, may play in different sections and can be from
different schools (grades 6-12 eligible), but both players must reside or
attend school in NY (confirm eligibility
with TD by Round 3); register at site (no extra fee) by 5 pm Sat.
Free/Reduced Entry Fee Prizes (ONLY
for NY players, or players attending NY schools, in grades 9-12— as per USCF
Tournament Life Ad): to all CCA OTB
tournaments (World Open and Philadelphia International are $100 off
instead): Championship section, 8 months 1st, 6 months 2nd, 4
months to 3rd & 4th. Other sections 6 months 1st, 4 months
2nd, 3 months to 3rd & 4. 2 months bonus free/reduced-price
entry to New York players with 6-0 scores! Some CCA events also have minimum rating requirements
and/or additional surcharges, based on rating, to play in the top sections; the
free/reduced entry fee prizes do not cover any such additional surcharges for
playing up in the top sections.
