132nd annual NY State Championship. Out of state welcome. 6SS, 40/2, SD/1 (2-day option except in Open Section, rds 1-3 G/45), Albany Marriott, 189 Wolf Road, Albany 12205 (Thruway Exit 24, I-87 north to Wolf Rd, Exit 4). Luxurious hotel with indoor/outdoor pool, sauna, fitness center, free parking, free airport shuttle, many restaurants in area.

 

$13,000 prize fund unconditionally guaranteed. In 6 sections.


Open Section: $1500-700-400-200, top Under 2300/Unr $800.  FIDE rated.  State title and $100 bonus to top scoring NY State resident.

Under 2200 Section: $1000-500-300-150.
Under 2000 Section: $1000-500-300-150.
Under 1800 Section: $1000-500-300-150.
 Under 1600 Section: $800-400-250-150, top Under 1400 $300.

Under 1300 Section: $700-350-200-100, top Under 1100 $200, trophies to top 5, 1st 800-999, Under 800, Unrated.

 

Unrated may not win over $100 in U1300, $200 U1600, $300 U1800, or $500 U2000.

 

All: 1 year NYSCA membership to NY residents who list name and address on signup sheet posted at tournament. 


Entry fee: 4-day $99, 3-day $98, 2-day $97 mailed by 8/26, all $100 online at chesstour.com by 9/1, $105 phoned to 406-896-2038 by 9/1 (entry only, no questions), $120 at site.   $50 less to unrated in Under 1300 or Under 1600.

 

All: Special 1 year USCF dues with Chess Life if paid with entry. Online at chesstour.com, Adult $30, Young Adult $20. Mailed, phoned or paid at site, Adult $40, Young Adult $30. Re-entry $60, all sections but Open.  GMs free, $80 deducted from prize.   No checks at site, credit cards OK.

 

3-day schedule: Reg. ends Sat 10 am, rds. Sat 11 & 6, Sun 11 & 6, Mon 10 & 4:15.

4-day schedule: Reg. ends Fri 6:30 pm, rds. Fri 7 pm, Sat 6 pm, Sun 11 & 6, Mon 10 & 4:15.

2-day schedule: Reg. ends Sun. 10:30 am, rds Sun 11, 1:30, 3:30 & 6, Mon 10 & 4:15, no 2-day schedule in Open.

 

Bye: all, limit 2, Open must commit before round 2, others before round 4.
