We have good news and bad news.
The bad news is that the hotel's water park
and pool, which are being repaired, will
not be available for this weekend.

However, as compensation:
1) The hotel is reducing the room rate for the chess block from $114 to $105.
And you can still reserve a room, by calling 515-200-2398.

2) The Internet Chess Club is offering a
free 6 month ICC membership
($40 value) to all players.

3) Continental Chess is offering free
entry to the Chicago Class, July 15-17
($138 or $88 value), to the best scoring
age 12/below in each of the Under
1200 and Under 1600 sections.

In 4 sections.
Major: Open to 1900/above (see peakrating.us). $1500-800-400-200, clear/tiebreak 1st $100 bonus,  top USCF U2200/Unr $500-250. FIDE rated.
Under 2000: $1000-500-300-200, top U1800/Unr $400-200. FIDE rated.
Under 1600: $800-400-200-100, top U1400 (no Unr) $300-150.
Under 1200: $500-250-120-80, top U1000 (no Unr) $200-100.

Unrated limit $150 in U1200, $300 U1600. Balance goes to next player(s) in line.

Mixed doubles prizes: best male/female 2-player combined score among all sections: $300-150. Must average under 2200; may play different sections; register (no extra fee) by 2 pm Sat.  

Top 3 sections entry fee: $108 at chessaction.com by 6 pm CDT 6/16, $120 at site, or online until an hour before round 1. 

Under 1200 Section entry fee: all $20 less than above.

No checks at site, credit cards OK. 

GMs, IMs & WGMs free; $100 deducted from prize.

PLAYERS MAY NOT POSSESS CELLPHONES DURING PLAY. Please leave your phone home, in your hotel room or car, or in a bag at your table. 

For all tournaments, adjusted FIDE or foreign ratings, if higher than USCF, may be used. Players must disclose FIDE or foreign ratings when entering, or may later be expelled. Other over the board ratings such as club, league, scholastic, state or province, etc, adjusted if appropriate, may be used at our discretion if above USCF.  No rating below the latest official USCF rating, on the list corresponding to the ending date of the tournament, will be used. For 9 round events offering title norm possibilities, FIDE ratings are used. Click here for further details.

Ratings: June official USCF ratings used. Unofficial uschess.org ratings usually used if otherwise unrated. Players must reveal foreign, FIDE and other over the board ratings, and these ratings, adjusted if necessary, may be used if higher than USCF. See also above.   If USCF Online Regular rating is 50 or more points over prize or section maximum, prize limit $150.

Special 1 year USCF membership with magazine if paid online with entry: Adult $40, Young Adult $25, Youth $18.
